‘The Visitors’ will showcase some of the finest comedians in town for the long weekend.
What better way to spend Easter Saturday than being a part of a brilliant night of International English Comedy!
★★★★★★★★★ Simone Hudson (NZ) ★★★★★★★★★
Simone Hudson is a Berlin based comedian and chef. Born as a badass mongrel… half Kiwi and half Swiss….think Lord of the Rings edited to half an hour. Some people may find her twangy accent relaxed yet direct. Her comedy would be best described as honest story-telling, where the joke is on herself, society or everyday occurrences. She likes stereotypes and horsing around but does not like horses or being put in a box.
★★★★★★★★★★ Mark McConnell (IRE) ★★★★★★★★★★
Mark McConnell is a weirdo, but a good one. An Australian based Irish comedian with a number of international shows under his belt. His surrealist yarns and comedic observations will leave you questioning your own values and culture. Come and laugh at some of the ridiculous situations he manages to find himself in as he attempts to figure out his place in this strange world.
“McConnell’s biggest comedic asset is his ability to ingratiate himself with the audience. There is a lot to love about this genuinely hilarious and heart-warmingly candid comedy. That it’s an hour of non-stop, laugh-out-loud funny is just the beginning.” ★★★★ Herald Sun (Australia)
★★★★★★★★★★ James Rankin (AUS) ★★★★★★★★★★
James Rankin is an Australian comedian who currently resides in Berlin. Originally beginning his Stand-up comedy career in 2013, James has also had a two-year stint as writer, producer and presenter of the Australian comedy radio show ‘Retreating Laughs’. James arrived in Berlin off the back of a successful run at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2016 performing his solo show ‘Be A Man’. His brave and hilarious story-telling performance earned him a television appearance as the feature artist of the Australian television show ‘The KK Factor’. Having performed in three different continents, James has now become a strong figure in the ever-expanding Berlin Comedy Scene, where he can be found performing, hosting and also producing successful shows.
“Smooth, calm and hilarious” – The Plus Ones
“Hanging on his every word…” – We Know Melbourne
★★★★★★★★★★★★★★ Willy (NZ) ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★
Wily is a big, bearded ball of weird. Based in Berlin and born in New Zealand he brings curious tales of everyday oddities and international animal politics to audiences all over Europe. He’s like sheep stuck in the desert with an additional shuffling, awkward charm and deadpan delivery that typifies his countryfolk.
★★★★★★★★★★ Kirthy Iyer (IND) ★★★★★★★★★★★★
Born and raised in India, studied in Canada, surviving in Germany” an international background that makes Kirthy so special that he wants to punch himself. He started the English stand-up comedy scene in Frankfurt out of necessity and is the only English comedian so far to win first place in KGB. A comic who does irritable, cynical and brutally honest riffs about anything and everything from life. When not ranting on stage, he spends majority of his time in his recluse, drawing comics, animating, writing stories and occasionally answering to bowel movements.
