Frollein Laughter – English comedy showcase

Mon Aug 12 @ 19:30 - 21:00

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every 2 weeks that begins at 19:30 on Monday, repeating indefinitely

Free

Every fortnight at Frollein Laughter we’ll bring you 4 of the best comedians the Berlin English comedy scene has to offer… each giving you the most pleasurable 12 minutes you could possibly have in a bar in Berlin on a Monday night.
This is a pay-what-you-want event and we’ll ask for donations at the end – so if you’re generous and like to laugh, we’d love to have you.
The show starts at 7:30ish at the lovely Frollein Langner (Weisestraße 34, 12049), a lovely Berlin kiezzy bar
Hosted by Willy & Dave Adams
Your comedians of the night will be:
★★★
Dima Watermelon
Dima is a Ukrainian stand-up comedian currently living in Germany. But don’t worry – he hasn’t lived there long enough to lose his sense of humor. His unique comedic style is a mix of absurdity, social commentary, and some allegedly inappropriate jokes. And yes, Watermelon is his real last name, simply translated into English.
Having lived in three different countries and visited over forty, Dima is no longer simply Ukrainian, but not quite European either. Stuck in this absurd cultural limbo, he finds laughter is his best coping mechanism.

★★★
Freddi Gralle
As a German pastor’s daughter, the first stages Freddi Gralle spent much time on were those in church. She later ditched the church for comedy, but kept the judgy vibe. Equipped with friendly arrogance, Freddi deep-dives into the existential questions around god, sex and German humor. Her voice is delightfully sarcastic with a strong preference for the auto-biographic.
★★★
Maya Upchurch
Maya Upchurch is a high-energy force of Gen-Z nature who loves to hop on stage with her sassy, dark and aggressive rants and opinions. She also makes fun of herself, bringing light to her time-wasting habits and irrational anxieties, which allows her to make fun of others twice as hard (or at least that’s how she thinks it works). Her Polish/American heritage gives her a unique and interesting perspective on what it’s like to have two passports and a lot of privilege and a generally good life. She started doing standup in Poland in February of 2020 and immediately after there was lockdown because China was scared of her power. Since then, she’s relocated to Berlin and has toured all over Europe
★★★
Theo Mason Wood
Theo is a great comedian but he’s not good at sending his bio.
