Hey, you! Welcome to the 5th edition of the Berlin New Stand-Up Award!
We’re happy to report that Berlin’s stand-up comedy scene in English is bursting at all funny seams! Wow!

With a record number of more than 100 up-and-coming comedians taking part, this year’s Berlin New Stand-Up Award is going to really be the fiercest, funniest and exciting competition so far! Come watch the finest fresh new faces from all around Germany work their guts out for the promise of eternal glory, monumental fame and 1000 EUR!

You, the audience, have the power! You decide which top 2 contestants made you laugh the hardest and will go through to the semi-finals!

— HEADLINER –

Freddi Gralle (GER)

As a German pastor’s daughter, the first stages Freddi Gralle spent much time on were those in church. She later ditched the church for comedy, but kept the judgy vibe. Equipped with friendly arrogance, Freddi deep-dives into the existential questions around god, sex and German humor. Her voice is delightfully sarcastic with a strong preference for the auto-biographic.
Freddi has performed all over Germany, in the US, AT, CZ, F and appeared on Germany’s Comedy Central, Nightwash and SKY One. She is also a tv writer for the Late Night Show “Shapira! Shapira!”.
Freddi Gralle is currently touring all over Europe with her first stand-up solo show “CHURCH GIRL, INTERRUPTED” – a personal, sarcastic and true story of her days as an evangelical Jesus girl, then starting to date in Berlin in her mid-30s and getting into stand-up. Where sarcasm meets story-telling and silly sex stories.

Chris Davis (SCT)

Chris Davis is a Berlin based comedian from Glasgow, Scotland. Since 2012 he has grown his stand-up career throughout Europe and beyond finding himself at a multitude of festivals and stages across the globe. With successful solo shows at Edinburgh and Glasgow Fringe festivals, his whacky wit and bouncing hair will, if you permit, traverse you to a wonderful corner of his mind. For your sake, let’s hope it’s only momentary.
