Frollein Laughter – English comedy showcase
Mon Apr 7, 2025 @ 19:30 - 21:00
An event every 2 weeks that begins at 19:30 on Monday, repeating indefinitely
Every fortnight at Frollein Laughter we’ll bring you 4 of the best comedians the Berlin English comedy scene has to offer… each giving you the most pleasurable 12 minutes you could possibly have in a bar in Berlin on a Monday night.
This is a pay-what-you-want event and we’ll ask for donations at the end – so if you’re generous and like to laugh, we’d love to have you.
The show starts at 7:30ish at the lovely Frollein Langner (Weisestraße 34, 12049), a lovely Berlin kiezzy bar
Hosted by Willy.
Your comedians of the night will be:
★★★
James Coon
James Coon has been a regular on the Berlin comedy scene since early 2015. Along with two full-run one-hour solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe (2018 and 2019), he has also performed in Bangkok, Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw, Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest, Dublin, Cincinnati, and Chicago. As the oldest living comedian in the Berlin English-language scene (potential rivals to that distinction having already died), James has garnered accolades far and wide. Come and see for yourself!
★★★
Simone O’Donovan
Simone O’Donovan is an Irish improviser and dabbler in stand-up and storytelling. Her comedy tends to evoke wincing, jaw dropping and outright surprise.
★★★
Palma Palacios
Classy, sassy, mostly just gassy. Finalist at the Berlin New stand-up Awards 2023, Palma is the loud high-energy latina your funny bone was missing. Master of deadpan, Palma’s storytelling combines thought provoking dark humor with everyday basic banter. She performs comedy in English and Spanish and in both languages tries to find the difference between having something to say and having to say something…funny

SPECIAL OUT OF TOWN GUEST
Annette Mullaney
Annette is a standup based in San Francisco, CA, and have performed all over the US & Canada, including at San Francisco Sketchfest, Motor City Comedy Festival, Portland Comedy Festival, Detroit Women of Comedy Festival, and Austen’s Out of Bounds Festival. I was named one of six “Comics to Catch” by the San Francisco Chronicle and regularly open for Third Eye Blind.
Raised in the American midwest (with a brief stint in the Netherlands) by an Irish father and American mother, I lived in Syria for several years and have been a software engineer, translator, and writer for a magazine that I now realize was a money-laundering front for the cousin of a dictator.
