John-Luke Roberts has written and performed 10 critically acclaimed solo shows, and this year he’s performing all ten of them at the Edinburgh Fringe. Clowning, absurdism and pin-sharp joke writing. Here, he’ll be performing A Mystery Show from the repertoire.

History Flakes – Live

History Flakes is a Berlin History podcast hosted by Jonny Whitlam and Pip Roper, two seasoned and increasingly wizened city tour guides who are occasionally funny. We’ve spent a combined 25 years communicating Berlin’s history to surly grandpas, sulking teens, and your intense uncle who has a large collection of WWII memorabilia (does he have anything from the Allied side? No, no he doesn’t). And we’ve fielded questions / statements such as:

‘Are these fake bullet holes in this old building?’

‘Did Hitler build the Berlin Wall to hide his crimes?’

‘You’re not talking enough about CANADA!!!…(or REAGAN)’

Join us for a live recording as we discuss the lives of two of Berlin’s most fascinating children, field your questions and share a drink!

Derek Mitchell: Double Dutch

Debut hour of stand-up and characters from the ‘out-and-out hilarious’ (Stage) Derek Mitchell (Ted Lasso), whose online sketches have generated over 250 million views and a dedicated following. Right off the back of a 60+ date European tour, the show is about the journey from being an outsider to a sort-of insider, and making sense of all the cultural nonsense and confusion in between.

‘The biggest laughs of the night’ (TheArtsDesk.com).

‘Outstanding’ (Oxford Mail).

Angel: Albatross

‘Albatross’ is a clown show about belonging, that explores the realms of queerness and identity, ridicule and hilarity, darkness and understanding, and ultimately acceptance, through the eyes of a lonely gay bird. A joyous celebration of light-as-a-feather fun with a troubled heart, ‘Albatross’ is a contemplation on stress, anxiety, addiction and trauma, but as a bird cos it’s so much easier that way.
An antithesis to corporate Pride, come celebrate the rough edges that shape the queer experience in a system built on fascism, in a world that’s also on fire.

“Vulnerable and hilarious, Albatross is a preposterous physical poem, scrawled in chip vinegar by a drunk bird in a jumpsuit” – Lucy Hopkins

“…like the intensity of an 80s era Black Flag punk gig whilst simultaneously being cradled by five Kate Bush’s…by far the stand-out show of Fringe 2023 for me, a true, unique voice has been unleashed”

Potential triggers: loud noises, food smells (chips), themes of addiction/drug use, Chem-Sex

Joz Norris: You wait. Time passes.

Comedians’ Choice Award-winner Joz Norris has completed his life’s work, and he’s finally ready to unveil it to the world. But what will he do next? A new show about closure, from the creator and star of BBC Radio 4’s The Dream Factory and A Small Talk On Small Talk.
Creator of one of the Evening Standard’s Top 20 Comedy Shows of 2022.

Nominated for the Malcolm Hardee Award for Comic Originality and the Chortle Award for Best Variety Act.

‘Captures the spirit of creative Fringe comedy’ (Guardian).

‘Brilliant’ (Evening Standard).

Freddi Gralle: Meditate On This

‘Meditate On This’ is an English stand-up comedy show about Freddi Gralle’s obsessive quest to find happiness in the modern world.

Berlin comedian Freddi Gralle digs deep and finds comedy where it hurts: our humans bias for suffering and our absurd attempts to avoid it.

Come out to Neukölln’s coziest back room stage and enjoy a night of drinks and laughs.
Comedian Freddi Gralle has tried it all: romantic love, self-love, God’s love, dating apps, meditation apps and even a Christian commune. Equipped with nothing but brutal honesty, she bravely explores the shadows of a ludicrous world and brings home dark jokes on the state of our 21st century society. She’d like to be more optimistic, but being German doesn’t exactly

Freddi grew up between different cultures before she settled in Berlin and started doing stand-up both in English and German. Her material is deeply personal, sardonically stimulating, with a deep love for ranting and meta-jokes. Freddi took her first stand-up hour “Church Girl, Interrupted” all over Europe and shared it with wonderful audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe ’22. You can find her work on German television (Comedy Central Germany’s Roast Battles, Sky One, Till Reiners Happy Hour, Shapira! Shapira!) and when she is not on stage, Freddi writes for film and tv and enjoys to see men cry.
