English Stand-Up Comedy – Wednesday Open Mic @thewallcomedyclub

Welcome to Wednesday Open Mic, the Open Mic for new jokes and comedians and experienced comedians!

“Open Mic…does that mean it will be a boring show?” Nope, not at all!

It just means it’s a show that’s open to all performers, from beginners to pros. It’s a casual show where comedians can experiment with new jokes…and let’s be honest, a joke that bombs is quite funny too! 😆

We the host curate the lineup to ensure that no matter what, you will have a good time. That comedians with proven track record of making people laugh for years (family not included), are on the lineup.

This is an Open Mic, where we have

• Beginners losing their comedy virginity

• Experienced comedians trying new material

Or experienced comedians come to get a confidence boost doing jokes they have done before in front of a newcomer

• The hosts Simon Gonzales will entertain with new jokes and crowd interaction throughout the show

You can’t hear the sound and feel the fun of being right in the middle of the room while the comedians tell jokes online. That’s ONLY possible live in person! 😀

Since there were too many comics who want to perform, we switched the format from a “show up to sign up” to a typical sign up show. Please sign up on Facebook under Discussion and we will pick the lineup days before the show.

English standup – Live from the Wall Comedy Club – It’s Open Mic Night!!!

The Wall Comedy Club was founded on a simple idea, that literally everything can turn into a joke that can help make people’s days a bit brighter. From our capacity (69 lol), to our mistake in asking the German government for permission to build a new Berlin Wall, (and they approved for some reason!), we’d like to invite you to a celebration of how far the stand up comedy scene has grown in the last few years in Berlin.

What can you expect from the show? We’ve invited 8-10 comics, some great, some who are working on new material, and some who we’ve never seen before for a two hour stand up comedy show. You will truly see some of everything! We have a lovely bar with drinks and cocktails and will take a 15 minute intermission roughly half way through the show. If you want to see some of the most unique Stand Up Comedy in Berlin, this event is for you!

About the Club: The Wall Comedy was founded in January 2020, truly the best (or worst if you have ever heard of something called “the news”) time. We have stand up shows every day apart from Monday and all the shows are in English except for one show on Sundays which is in German. Our goal is to help grow the stand up community in English and create a truly open space for comedians to shine.

It says free, is it really free? This is what’s called a donation show and we will ask for a donation from EUR 7-12 per person after the show. For that we can take cash or card.

Wait, you take cards? Yes! We do!

What if I want to show up without a reservation? Is that fine? Yeah! Totally! But we do ask you to reserve so we can plan correctly for the right amount of people. We are a comedy club in Germany after all, so really like to plan ahead 🙂

Where are we located and when do we open? We are located right at Boxhagener Platz in Friedrichshain. We open at 8pm and the show will start at 8:30pm. If you are looking for something to do before the show, there is park nearby and a ton of restaurants and activities. We are even close to the East Side Gallery if you want to look at Berlin’s original Wall before dropping by the Wall Comedy Club!
